Our executive team comprises experienced senior advisers and executive support staff. In all transactions, one of our Directors will take direct ownership and lead the transaction through all stages of the process, from strategy formulation through to completion. The Directors come from a diverse background with experience in a wide variety of industries.

Our people have practical knowledge and direct experience drawing from the financial, legal, commercial and marketing industries as well as the technology, media, and entertainment (TME) industries, healthcare, natural resources and commercial property sectors.

 

Michael RamsdenBEc, LLB FFin

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Michael is the Managing Director and founding Director of Terrain Capital. A qualified lawyer with more than 20 years experience as a corporate adviser, he has been involved with all forms of finance, including money markets, futures trading, lease finance, trade finance and foreign exchange. Michael has worked for a Lloyds broker in London and a number of major international companies including CIBC Australia, JP Morgan and Scandinavian Pacific Investments Limited. Michael was a Director of D&D Tolhurst Stockbrokers and Tolhurst Corporate Ltd, and is experienced in funds management, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, equity raising and the general provision of corporate advice. He listed his first resources company in 1987 and has been involved in capital raising and ipo’s for many resources companies since. Michael is currently Chairman of Australia Mines Limited (ASX:AUZ),  Cremorne Capital Limited, African Mahogany Australia Pty Ltd and Vice Chairman of the Victoria Racing Club.

Dominic Marinelli MBA, BEng, PGD Sc

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Dominic has over 20 years of corporate experience covering a wide range of technology and related industries including; agriculture, resources, emerging technologies, software and energy. He has extensive venture capital and limited partnership fund raising experience and is knowledgeable in equity and debt raising, IPOs, backdoor listings, business sale transactions and portfolio acquisitions. He has extensive UK experience and whilst in the UK he was a key member of a management team involved in the reverse takeover of a London Stock Exchange investment trust. Dominic is currently a Director of Australia Mines Limited (ASX:AUZ). He holds an MBA from the Melbourne Business School, a degree in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering from Monash University and a diploma in Nanotechnology from Leeds University

Sarah Knoll MCommRel(Resources), BPsychSc, DipCouns

DIRECTOR

Sarah Knoll is an environmental, social and governance (ESG) professional with over 15 years’ experience in the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors across Australia, Africa and the Americas. She specialises in social impact, human rights, community engagement, sustainable development, monitoring and evaluation, risk assessment, and organisational capacity building. She holds Bachelor of Psychological Science (Hons.), a Masters of Community Relations in the Resources Sector, and is a member of the Australian Centre for Company Directors (AICD). Sarah brings expertise in ESG risk and impact, which is of major importance to Terrain’s clients and areas of focus, including in risk management, investment advisory and long-term sustainability.

Don Carroll BE(Mining), MAusIMM, MAICD

CONSULTANT

Don has extensive experience in the international resources business primarily in the marketing and development of minerals. In a career spanning 29 years with BHP Billiton, and prior to that Rio Tinto, he has held a number of senior positions including President BHP Billiton Japan, President BHP Billiton India and Group General Manager Marketing Asia based in Hong Kong. He has been active in the development of coal, bauxite and iron ore resources as well as the marketing of most mineral and energy products. He has experience in the merger and acquisitions sector including the merger of BHP with Billiton. Prior to joining Terrain Capital Don was Vice President Investor Relations for BHP Billiton in Australia. He holds a degree in mining engineering from Sydney University and is a long-standing member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
